Amazigh Salutations Photography Exhibition took place in Ramon Etc aka Radius’ beloved Chicago @ Temple 222 in Hyde Park December 2023.

This stunning set of 3 limited edition shots by the interdisciplinary artist, were taken within Morocco, during spring of 2023. As he moved around immersed/nomadic, for nearly two months, with intentions initially, to be based in Barcelona.
Three locations are highlighted, and include a short writeup in relation, on each card, and come signed and delivered in special envelope.

Artists statement:

“This project is very dear to me, because these pieces are true meditations/reflections of my being simultaneously. I can’t begin to think of how to separate those words, I can only see and feel them as one unit. When I look at them, I’m transported immediately to those times. It’s a multilayered moment of moments that manifest again before me.

Morocco is a super potent, inspiring, beautiful and complex country, once you begin to tap in deeper beyond its surface. I went into Morocco, for my second time, in the spring of 2023 (first time was only for two weeks in 2019 via Barcelona flight), for just a few days shy of two months, and spent significant time within; Tangier, Chefchouen, Marrakech, Essaouira and a little in between, connecting dots. I unlike many, went with intentions not only because I loved it and have some ancestral roots, from my own personal research, but also to “escape” from the pressures of Europe, specifically Spain.

My intentions were to base within Spain, specifically Barcelona; to work, live, and build up a much needed overdue foundation, that I unfortunately haven’t consistently achieved being a nomad, or “free spirit”, which the indigenous people of Morocco,can relate to being; “Berber” (respectfully and lovingly known as Amazigh or Imazighen).

Morocco provided a place where I could base (even though still a struggle here and there), within an environment where my basic necessities were “easier” to obtain, survive and at times even thrive. I wasn’t grasping this within my short time, reentering Europe, for the first time since 2019.

Even though I’m not physically present within the golden country, with the vibrant Red flag, showcasing the Green five pointed star of Solomon in its center, doesn’t mean I’m not thinking of it often, and piecing together wholistic ways, to continue to build within it. I am a bridge and representative of some sort for it now and future. These images are testimonials of these words, I’m curious how they resonate with you?
